DOG POET SOCIETY
WELCOME

The Dog Poet Society is a country-punk or rockabillyish folk band with a distinctly political flavor. The music is raw but the message is pointed and often strangely authentic. Leveraging of these truly amazing times we live in, The Dog Poets -- lead by songwriter David Burns -- sing upbeat danceable tunes about the genuine insanity that is unfolding all around us. The songs are an attempt to raise issues that seem buried by our frantic and traumatizing lifestyles we all are forced to live today. We welcome you to this site and encourage your comments and feedback.

As for the site itself, there are brief intros of the Dog Poets; the Earth Day page contains six videos recorded at The Ship And Anchor on March 22, 2010 (Earth Day); there are a few other earlier video pages you may be interested in on the next subset of pages; and there is a contact and feedback area with a blog, some recommended websites, a challenge extended to readers and a guest book which we hardily encourage you leave a note in. We also encourage you use the forum board to discuss issues raised. That is a large part of the reason for launching this site: agree with us or not, but these issues need attention and consideration going forward. The status quo will no longer work.

Issues like the North American Union, the use of war as a geopolitical tool, the fraud that is global warming, the economic turmoil and the various ways people are coping to survive. This is a transcendent age, all traditions speak of it, and 10,000 years of peace may follow. But we have to decide where we stand in relation to this new age, and begin creating that future now.

More songs and content will follow soon. Thank you for coming and Carpe Bone. May you be the dog you've been waiting for.
